What we collect, and what we do with it.
EquityLens has no accounts, no logins and no user database. The only personal data we collect is what someone chooses to send us through one of the three interest forms on Get involved. This notice covers those forms, and the one piece of analytics the site runs.

What we collect
There are three forms, one per pathway, and between them they ask for:
- Name
- University
- Stage
- Subject or degree
- The question you want to research
- Where you want this to lead
- Year group or grade
- Track that interests you
- Anything else you want us to know
- Your role
- Roughly how many students
- What would you like to know
No single form asks for all of these. Which questions you see depends on whether you are offering to lead a project, to join a team, or writing to us from a school.
We also record that you agreed to this notice, and on the two student forms that you confirmed you are 16 or over, because those are the grounds on which we accepted the submission at all. We do not ask for your date of birth, your address, or anything else, and you should not send it.
Why we collect it
Solely to consider your expression of interest and to reply to it. We do not use it for marketing, we do not profile anyone with it, and we do not share or sell it to anybody.
Our lawful basis
Consent, given freely when you tick the box and send the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and withdrawing it costs you nothing: we will delete what you sent and that is the end of it.
Where it goes
A form posts to this site, which immediately emails the contents to a single inbox and keeps no copy. Nothing you send is written to a database, to a file, or to this project's code repository, and none of it appears anywhere on the site. The email is sent for us by Resend, an email delivery provider, which handles the message in transit.
How long we keep it
If we do not end up working together, we delete your submission within 12 months of receiving it. If we do work together, we keep it for as long as you are involved with EquityLens, and delete it after that on the same basis. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any point.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent altogether. Email milesayapp@gmail.com and we will act on it, and confirm when it is done. You do not need to give a reason.
If you are under 18
Our student forms are for people aged 16 and over. If you are 16 or 17 you can send one yourself, but we will ask for written consent from a parent or guardian before you join a team, and no contributor under 18 is ever named publicly on this site without that consent on file. Until it is, they are credited by role and school rather than by name.
A parent or guardian can contact us at any time about their child's data, including to ask what we hold and to have it deleted, at milesayapp@gmail.com. We will not ask them to explain why.
Analytics
The site uses Vercel Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, does not follow you across other sites, and does not identify you. It is the only measurement on the site: there are no advertising trackers here.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Any question about it goes to milesayapp@gmail.com.
